Meet the team
Since day one, our Managing Director Beggy Ashurov leads our team from the front ensuring a friendly yet professional and attentive service. Working closely alongside Beggy, you will find our Restaurant Manager & Sommelier, Pedro Borges, who is responsible for our international wine list and is always attentive to new wine discoveries. Our wine list offers great value for money and showcases a wide variety of wines from different regions of the globe. He will be on hand to gladly offer his expertise and provide wine recommendations should you wish to have the perfect pairing with your meal or if you want to simply be adventurous and try something new.
Our head Chef Frédéric Duval has been a part of our family here at The White Onion since day one and prides himself on using the best seasonal produce and local produce to offer exquisite but accessible menus. Originally from Normandy, France, Fred studied Philosophy but decided to pursue his life long passion of culinary arts.
We recognise that our entire team are the heart and soul of The White Onion and we are proud to have such a close-knit and culturally diverse family to support us through each day.

Events at The White Onion
Our head chef and sommelier join forces to host regular exciting wine dinner evenings. Such evenings encourage our guests to explore and celebrate various wine regions through a 5 course meal accompanied by carefully selected wine pairings.
Hosted in our stunning private dining room, our sommelier shares his extensive knowledge of each of the chosen wines by illustrating the wines journey from the vine to your glass.
